Indecisive Musings

As it turns out when it comes to my own blog, website, branding, personal focus, and goals I am a very wishy-washy person. I flux between wanting to change things and make them better to panicking because I can’t wrap my head around what I want to make it. If I’m honest, anything is better. Currently, my old blog is crumbling and outdated and my website is super outdated and somewhat null and void. I just don’t rely on it to find new clients.

Don’t get my wrong I still do freelance work. I love doing freelance. It keeps my brain sane from being a SAHM and it helps me to feel as though I am using the giftings God has given me.

My sweet girl! Getting so big.

As a designer, I learned before I was even fully finished with my BFA that I had picked a career which can often be full of unsatisfying work or worse full of selling people what they don’t need by means that I don’t agree with. Freelancing has allowed me to work for non-profits or companies/people I do believe which has been an answer to pray. I asked the Lord during my first internship to redeem my career choice and I believe He has done just that.  All of my clients I have through word of mouth or personal relationships.
So all of that to say, I have a website I don’t really use to drum up clients, a blog that needs transition, and lots of projects I want to accomplish all of which I am not sure what style I want it to be viewed through. Sigh.

Desires:
Incorporate recipes from our new mostly plant-based eating lifestyle.
Incorporate projects that I do – which means I need to do them 🙂
Add new work I have created – because I have a website so I might as well; maybe someone wants to see it.
Blog again. (This is a start I suppose)

How do I want to be viewed through a website?

I still like using Ray as a starting point.  A ray of light is distinguished from a beam of light in that it describes a smaller quantity of light. I want my website to be a ray of light in the www and in whomever’s life that is possibly viewing it so I was to keep that idea.

I also want to still keep my logo.

I want it to be all encompassing life blog rather than a portfolio feel. A landing place for what God is teaching me, recipes I’m learning, typographic designs perhaps, projects I accomplish or random soap box moments….and probably a few nail polish colors or techniques I’m loving, because if you have known me over the past 5ish years, you know I really love having my nails painted.

so…

while I work it out it will be a little unorganized but I’m setting a goal to get things back on track – if only for myself.
